Renée was born in a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark and was brought over to the states, as an infant, by her Swedish mother and Danish father. She is the youngest of three children. They resided in the northeast, where she spent most of her adolescence.
Soon after graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, Renée made her professional debut in the cast of the 1st International touring company of Grand Hotel (1991) directed by 9-time Tony Award® winner, Tommy Tune. She continued to work Off- Broadway, regionally and made her Broadway debut in the John Doyle directed revival of Stephen Sondheim's, Company (2007 Tony Award® Winner - Best Revival). More recently, Renée was part of the Off Broadway production, Secrets of A Soccer Mom, directed by 2-time Tony Award® winner Judith Ivey.
In film Renée was featured as “Bootsey” in the 2006 indie, Sex Farce, (Evan Greenberg, dir.), and as “Bernadette” in Bernadette, etc. (David Perlman, dir.) On television, among other commercial spots she is currently featured in Universal Orlando Resort’s national T.V. campaign.
When she's not performing, Renée can be found coloring and listening to funk with her daughter, Olivia Raen and artist husband, J. Brent Allen.
